INTRODUCCIÓN A LOS PROBLEMAS SOCIALES DE MÉXICO This short book was written by a distinguished professor of economics at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara for students in the IPSL Mexico program. It is used in the course he teaches which links the service they are performing with understanding the social conditions of the clients of the agencies where they are working, and sets these conditions in the context of globalization. Written in Spanish for intermediate Spanish language students, it summarizes the demographic structure of Mexico; the issues of internal and external migration; the situation of women and indigenous populations; and conditions of health, education, and employment. Students in their second year of college/university Spanish should be able to read this book, giving them a sense of accomplishment in their reading skills while informing them of issues facing contemporary Mexico.
