STUDY ABROAD + SERVICE-LEARNING

IPSL programs combine academic studies and community service and full cultural immersion to give students a deeper, more meaningful study abroad experience.

IPSL PROGRAMS ARE FOR EVERYONE!

For nearly thirty years, IPSL’s unique programs have combined academic coursework, volunteer service, cultural immersion, travel and adventure for thousands of young people. IPSL operates high-quality programs with extensive local support networks in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Anyone with a high school diploma can participate. We welcome traditional Gap Year students (between high school and college or college and grad school), college students of all ages, adults and retirerees. In short, anyone with a desire to learn about another  culture and to help those in need is welcome.

IPSL participants distinguish themselves by making a difference. IPSL courses are accredited, so credits count towards college. Participants gain a new-found understanding of other people and their way of life, as well as greater introspection and personal growth. IPSL participants’ confidence in their abilities reaches new heights. And with international work experience, our participants set themselves apart from other students on college applications and work résumés.

IPSL GAP Year students participate in a structured program with extensive on-site academic, logistical and social support. IPSL programs offer many opportunities to mix with local residents, become immersed in the host communities, take academic courses, travel, and perform volunteer service at the many NGOs and community development agencies with which IPSL has partnered over many years.
