Tsunami warning CANCELLED.

Dear Students, Parents, and Partners... 

As you may know by now, an earthquake took place in the South Pacific. The Tsunami Pacific Warning Center, NOAA'S affiliate, has issued a final report canceling alerts for southern Pacific territories such as the Solomon Islands, Marshall Islands, Vanuatu, etc.

Some of these countries, including Australia and New Zealand, were under alert, but that has changed. This means there is NO threat for the South American Pacific coasts, which includes mainland Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. IPSL program teams in the Galápagos (San Cristobal)  have not issued any alert. Nevertheless, there is always an evacuation protocol both from the local authorities and our own groups, should that be necessary.
