STUDY ABROAD + SERVICE-LEARNING
IPSL programs combine academic studies and community service and full cultural immersion to give students a deeper, more meaningful study abroad experience.
This is an update about the building collapse in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 29 March (P.M. our time).
The multi-story building collapsed in the center of Dar es Salaam. Forty-five people are still missing. It is not clear what caused the collapse, but it is believed to be faulty construction. IPSL would like to inform all partners that all students participating on the IPSL program are safe. The building's location is far from the University of Dar es Salaam, where students study and live, and the students are on a camping safari outside of Dar.
Students were advised to stay away from the collapsed site and remain in regular contact with our Onsite Director.
