Master of Arts in International Service

In addition to our 16 undergraduate programs, IPSL offers a Master of Arts in International Service program. The M.A. program is designed to prepare professionals for a career in the private, voluntary sector, delivering social services to communities, including those that operate internationally.

The program combines theory and practice through rigorous academic study and substantive volunteer service in three nations for one year. All students gather in a U.S. city at the beginning of the program for a week of orientation, intercultural training, study, and institutional visits. For the Fall semester, students study and serve in either Jamaica (English proficiency required) or Mexico (Spanish proficiency required). For the Spring semester, all students study and serve in England and remain after the end of the semester to complete the Master’s thesis.

The program is based at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (Mexico), the University of Technology (Jamaica), and Roehampton University (England), which awards the degree. Details >>
