Service-Learning Program in London, England

Study Abroad integrated with Volunteer Service Volunter in England, Volunteer Service Combined with Academic Study

Deeper, More Meaningful Study Abroad

London is one of the most popular destinations for study abroad, with its dynamic youth culture, vast cultural offerings, rich history, and proximity to Europe. With large populations of immigrants from all over the world, today's London is a truly international city. Service-learning in London offers you a unique opportunity not just to see London culture, but become immersed in it through volunteer service and study of British social issues. You will enjoy all of the cultural benefits of the world's most cosmopolitan city, but will also learn firsthand about the advantages and problems of a nationalized health and social service system, as well as immigrant, refugee, and social justice issues.

You will spend the fall semester at Roehampton University, living and studying with British students, and engaging in substantive volunteer service in a London agency for 15-20 hours per week. In addition to two courses from the regular offerings of the university, you take a specially designed course which links your service to learning about current social, political, and cultural issues in Britain. Please note that the IPSL England program is offered in the Fall semester only.
