Students receive credits in both UK and U.S. university designations. In British nomenclature, you will receive 180 credits (including the Master’s thesis) for the full year of academic work. In U.S. terms, the work is the equivalent of 40 semester credits, including 8 awarded for the thesis. (While translating credits between national systems is not exact, for U.S. purposes it may be helpful to understand that the program involves about 540 contact hours of instruction, somewhat more than is usual for a similar U.S. degree.)
