The program is based at the University of Glasgow, founded in 1451 and one of the most prestigious universities in Europe. Renowned for its research, it attracts students from all over Europe and the world. You take one required course (consisting of two linked components) and two electives for a total of 13-15 credits. A transcript is issued from the University of Glasgow upon successful completion of the program.

The required course has two linked components, for a total of 7 credits:

Institutions in Scottish Society (Experiential Study)

Links your service experience with learning about Scottish culture and society. You learn to analyze critically your experience and impact in your service placement, writing regular progress reports and keeping a service journal.

Values in Action

Examines theoretical aspects of citizenship and civil society. Students learn to critically analyze concepts of citizenship and civil society; critically analyze the relationship between theory and practice in the field of public policy; and assess the implications of active citizenship and civic responsibility. Offered in Fall 2008.
