Halle, Germany

German language learning in Händel's birth city!

Experience Germany - and Europe - by completing an academic program requirement with our nonprofit  community-based partner dedicated to supporting refugees and other displaced people. Together we can customize your program to fit your schedule and budget.

Volunteer placements depend on the students' previous work experience, education, and German language proficiency. We will take any special requests into account and arrange a placement accordingly, if possible.

All levels of German are welcome! We do require basic proficiency before the volunteer Service can commence.

IPSL's partners in Germany are both a nonprofit refugee organization AND a modern, accredited German language institute for beginners to advanced speakers. You'll be taught by native speakers and you'll learn to speak, write and read Standard German. The lessons are held in small, international groups with modern teaching methods, so that learning German is fun.

You will practice grammar, vocabulary, and conversation, and together with other students from around the world, you will discover diverse German culture(s). Through our activities and special interest programs, you will visit the sights in Germany and experience German Gemütlichkeit.

There are several courses of study for different interests and proficiency levels. You can learn German in a Standard or Intensive Course. You can prepare for a certified language proficiency diploma or university studies. Whether you want to learn Business German or try a language course with your family - we have the perfect program for you.
